Omrix

Omrix Biopharmaceuticals is a multinational biotechnology company specializing in the development, manufacture and marketing of life-saving products derived from human plasma. Company products are based on a unique patented technology and consist of two product lines: Biosurgicals - a line of hemostatic products designed to control bleeding during surgery, and Passive Immunotherapy Products - a line of products intended for patients with immune deficiencies.

Omrix was founded in 1995 by Mr. Robert Taub, with an initial public offering issued on the US Stock Exchange in 2006 under the name OMRI. In December 2008, Omrix was purchased by Johnson & Johnson, one of the world's largest health care companies that employ approximately 114, 000 around the globe. Omrix currently operates as part of the Medical Devices & Diagnostics Sector of Johnson & Johnson, in affiliation with Ethicon, Inc., which markets Omrix products throughout the world. In Israel Omrix employs approximately 500 employees in four locations: Tel-Hashomer, Jerusalem, Nes-Tziona and Or-Yehuda.
